Dr. Michael Schmeisser(mschmeisser@uni-mainz.de)和 PD Dr. Dilja Krueger-Burg (krueger@em.mpg.de),包括:

Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate at the Ph.D. student or postdoctoral level to join us in studying the synaptic and circuit mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders.
This project will be conducted as a collaboration between the Institute for Microscopic Anatomy and Neurobiology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, headed by Prof. Dr. Michael Schmeisser, and the group of PD Dr. Dilja Krueger-Burg at the Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine, Göttingen.
Our research focuses on the mechanisms by which alterations in GABAergic inhibitory synapses and neurons in the amygdala contribute to the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders, most notably anxiety disorders and autism. Using mouse models and a wide range of experimental approaches ranging from molecular studies through circuit level analyses to assessment of defensive and social behaviors, we aim to identify strategies that may ultimately lead to development of new therapeutic interventions.
The position is available starting in October 2020. Candidates will be affiliated with the Focus Program Translational Neurosciences (FTN) of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and Ph.D. students will additionally be affiliated with the Mainz Research School of Translational Biomedicine.
