Job description
Join us on the journey to develop lead-free perovskites, an emerging class of semiconductor materials, for use in optoelectronics and spintronics. Lead halide perovskites have emerged as promising semiconducting materials for different applications (solar cells, light-emitting diodes, detectors, and lasers). However, the toxicity of the lead in these perovskites represents a serious issue which could be an obstacle for their practical applications. Therefore, we are motivated to develop lead-free perovskites, a large family of materials well suited for a range of optical, electric, magnetic-related applications.
Linköping University (LiU) in Sweden is now recruiting 3 PhD students to join a large research project funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. Do you have a background in Materials Science, Electronics, Chemistry, Physics or Computational Physics/Chemistry and want to join pioneering research at Linköping University?
The research project involves groups from three divisions at LiU: Electronic and photonic materials (Prof. Feng Gao and Prof. Weimin Chen), Theoretical Physics (Prof. Igor Abrikosov) and the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (Prof. Mats Fahlman), all affiliated to the Swedish Government Strategic Research Area in Materials Science on Functional Materials at Linköping University. You will work in a cross-disciplinary and creative environment with access to advanced laboratory facilities.
